Montreal was the hot Canadian real estate market for Chinese in 2017 even as interest in Toronto and Vancouver has slipped, reports the National Post (4 July 2018). According to a report from Juwai.com, Chinese interest in Montreal was up 84.5 percent in 2017, and that one of the factors propelling Montreals popularity with mainland homebuyers is the introduction of foreign buyers taxes in Toronto and Vancouver. Juwai data also revealed that Chinese buyers enquiry for Canada properties in 2017 amounted to nearly $1.45 billion worth of Canadian properties in 2017.
