Wei Gu of the Wall Street Journal (7 November 2013) reports that Chinese buyers are getting more comfortable in their role as international property buyers. As they do, they begin to look beyond the traditional gateway cities of New York and London and to less traditional destinations for Asian investment dollars – like Miami. There, Juwai.com client Eddy Martinez told the Journal, "Obviously Chinese tourists have been in New York, Hong Kong and San Francisco, but now you see them in Miami Beach." Other new destinations include Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Detroit and Houston.
