While visiting China, President Obama recently announced a change in policy that will now allow Chinese to visit US on a multiple-entry visas of up to 10 years or student visas of up to 5 years, reports LA Times (13 November 2014). This would benefit the US in terms of economic growth, job creation, and exports. According to Juwai.com Co-CEO, Simon Henry, this change is much welcome as visa regulations were one of the major concerns for Chinese investors in US real estate. "On Juwai.com, articles explaining how the visas work receive just as much traffic as articles about real estate markets and investment strategies," said Henry. He also emphasised that a bigger impact would be from the 5-year student visas instead, as Chinese HNWIs have a preference for purchasing homes for their children who are studying in the US.
