Mainland Chinese and Hong Kong residents purchased 15,000 new apartments in the Thai capital Bangkok last year, the head of Juwai.com, the Chinese international property portal, told the Bangkok Post. Carrie Law, Chief Executive and Director of Juwai.com said the top six searched cities were Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Sattahip and Samui. The top five locations in terms of inquiries were Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket and Samui with total inquiry value of US$547.7 million, reports The Standard (23 January 2019).
