Chinese developer Datong pins hopes on Chinese buyers for Adelaide apartment project

Before construction even starts, Chinese developer Datong has already sold half of the project's 96 apartments in Adelaide, Australia, and about half of those buyers were mainland Chinese.

The A$36 million apartment building, named Aria, is scheduled to begin construction this week. Datong has bought four sites in Adelaide, with plans to build 1,000 apartments and also a hotel. It will build Adelaide's tallest residential building as well, the 75-metre-tall 123Flinders. Permanent residency considerations are a major part of Chinese buyers making the decision to invest in Adelaide.
