Quote of the Week: Everyone wants to market to China

By Juwai, 21 February 2014

Our agents have asked for this. Our vendors have asked for this. Everyone wants to make sure their properties are marketed in China.

Michael Davoren, Managing Director of RE/MAX Australia and New Zealand

The fast-growing China market is a lucrative market that is too massive to ignore, and now RE/MAX has decided it wants its slice of the China market by recently signing a deal with Juwai.com. After L.J. Hooker, RE/MAX is the second major Australasian real estate agency to partner with Juwai.com.

According to Juwai.com Co-CEO, Andrew Taylor, RE/MAX clients will benefit much from this deal, as all properties listed with RE/MAX throughout New Zealand and Australia will be automatically promoted to potential Chinese buyers on Juwai.com – the largest property portal in the world for Chinese investors seeking properties abroad.

This alone translates into more inquiries, as well as potentially faster sales times and higher prices, which is music to the ears of Michael Davoren, managing director of RE/MAX Australia and New Zealand. After all, Chinese buyers rake in the biggest number of sales from any international buyer group on RE/MAX.

Based on Juwai.com data, Australia and New Zealand are both favourite destinations for Chinese homebuyers, thanks to their relative proximity to China, good education opportunities, protected natural environment, as well as stable real estate markets and economy.

While Chinese buyers favoured Auckland as the top destination in New Zealand, places like Kerikeri, Dunedin, Taupo and Northland came in as popular hot spots too
