Melbourne's workforce is the most educated state in Australia, with half of all Victorians aged 20-64 hold a form of post-secondary qualification. Almost 30 per cent of all Victorians have a university degree - the highest proportion of all Australian states.

According to IMD World Talent Index 2019, they ranked Australia third in the Asia Pacific for talent, reflected by the cities high-quality universities and education standards such as the University of Melbourne and Monash University.
