Australia’s new visa system – which will open doors for foreign primary-school students and their guardians keen to study in Australia – is projected to increase its housing demand, reports The Australian (6 June 2016). The new visa rules will allow foreign students aged six and above to apply for a student visa, and is expected to be well received by the China market. Chinese are already the largest group of international students in Australia, accounting for 27.3% of Australia’s foreign student population last year. “Anything Australia does to increase the number of Chinese students will also increase investment in strategic areas of the real estate market,” said Gavin Norris, the Australian head of Juwai.com.
