Australia's affordable homes, combined with its reputation for clean air and a good education system, have made the country an attractive investment opportunity for Chinese investors with deep pockets, reports Channel News Asia (26 January 2017). Jan Kot, General Manager China of Juwai.com said: "Tourism is a driving force for lots of overseas investments. Even for us, we can always see that after long holidays, like Chinese New Year and National Day holidays, we will see an increase in enquiries because it's always during the holidays...you go to a place, you travel and then you realise that you like this place. The most popular saying these days is when you go overseas, the ultimate souvenir for you to bring back is actually property."
