Direct flights from Beijing to Manchester have led to an increase in Chinese property investment within the city, reports The Telegraph (2 January 2016). The economic impact of Chinese visitors are so profound that Chinese tourism spending is expected to double from £250 million to £500 million within the next ten years. Many of the Chinese travelling directly to Manchester, though, are there to invest in property around the area. According to data from Juwai.com, an online property portal for Chinese buyers looking to invest in property abroad, Chinese enquiries for Manchester property grew 53.8 percent in November compared to the same period in 2015.
