Top education institutions plus a safe, clean, and beautiful environment are major attractions for Chinese buyers in Australia's Far North, reports Realestate.com.au (4 March 2017). Data from Juwai.com, China's largest international real estate website, revealed that Cairns has emerged to be the eighth most searched city by Chinese homebuyers in Australia. According to Juwai.com CEO Charles Pittar, Chinese residents perceive Cairns property as a safe long-term investment. "Cairns at eighth is well down the list for Chinese buyer activity. Compared to the big capital cities, it receives significantly fewer Chinese buyer inquiries. For its size, however, Cairns is doing well. Even a small increase in Chinese investment could bolster the struggling market," said Pittar.
