Montreal is now the second most-searched Canadian city by Chinese buyers after Toronto, reports the Vancouver Sun (17 July 2017). This is according to latest data from Juwai.com, China's most popular international property website, which revealed that Montreal surpassed Vancouver in terms of popularity with property investors from China due its affordability, as well as the newly introduced foreign buyer tax on Vancouver housing. Canada is the fourth-most-popular destination for Chinese buyers after the US, Hong Kong, and Australia on Juwai.com, and Chinese buyers are expected to spend C$103.9 billion on international property in 2017.
