Surging prices in Seattle have led Chinese buyers to switch attention towards Texas and Arizona, reports The Seattle Times (25 July 2017). Over the past five years, Seattle housing prices have nearly doubled before rising twice as fast since 2016, according to the Case-Shiller data. As such, Chinese buyers are increasingly looking towards more affordable markets, such as Texas and Arizona. Property investors from China account for approximately one-third of foreign buyers in the Washington state, however, recent Juwai data has revealed a 10 percent y-o-y drop in Chinese buyer enquiries for Seattle.
