Chinese interest in Vietnam is on the rise, reports VN Express International (4 October 2017). Vietnam was one of the top destinations for Chinese in Southeast Asia over the recent Golden Week break, trailing after Thailand, Singapore, and Japan. Beyond sightseeing and shopping, Chinese visitors to Vietnam were also keen on real estate investments there, thanks to the revised Vietnamese Law on Residential Housing, which now enables foreign ownership and has greatly fuelled Chinese interest in Vietnamese properties. According to Juwai.com, China's largest overseas property platform, Chinese buyer enquiries into Vietnamese properties surged by 442 percent y-o-y over the first five months of 2017.
