Thailand is set to receive 260,000 Chinese tourists during the Golden Week holiday, a 35% y-o-y increase from last year, reports The Phuket News (5 October 2017). According to Thailand's Ministry of Tourism & Sports, popular vacation destinations for Chinese travellers in Thailand are Phuket, Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and Koh Samui. Nevertheless, while Thailand is the top destination for Chinese tourists during this holiday, other countries should also see an increase in Chinese arrivals. “Overseas travel numbers will set a new record this Golden Week. About six million Chinese will go abroad during the holiday, according to Ctrip, China’s top travel company,” said Carrie Law, CEO of Juwai.com.
