Data from Juwai.com have revealed that real estate sales to Chinese buyers in Vancouver are at the same level as before, reports CBC News (13 November 2017). "Chinese buyer demand in Vancouver is flat as a pancake — neither up nor down," said Byron Burley, Vice President for Juwai.com. "When these uncommitted buyers compare Vancouver prices, plus the tax, to what they can get somewhere else, sometimes they decide it's not worth it," he added. Nevertheless, Burley emphasised that Chinese buyer demand in Vancouver has not collapsed and is merely flat, likening Vancouver to be 'flat as a pancake' rather than a 'deflating soufflé'.
