The impending foreign buyer ban in New Zealand has prompted Juwai.com to reveal why Chinese desire Kiwi property, report the New Zealand Herald (1 December 2017). According to Juwai, Chinese buyers are attracted to New Zealand because of liveability, environmental health, food safety, and its great outdoors. The Chinese real estate portal also predicted Chinese would rush to buy properties before the ban. "Chinese homebuyers have shown a tendency in the past to speed up their plans to purchase overseas properties when new taxes or restrictions are in the cards, such as in Vancouver and Sydney when new foreign buyer taxes were announced," said Juwai.
