A Canadian resident and aspiring homeowner experienced first-hand how Vancouver attracts foreign buyers from abroad, reports The Globe and Mail (8 February 2018). While in Singapore, the Vancouver-based American attended a real estate sales presentation for a condo in Vancouver, and begun seeing Vancouver's appeal to foreign investors. According to a recent report by Hong Kong-based international real estate portal Juwai.com, 14 percent of Chinese buyers intend to purchase in Canada this year, and the top Canadian cities for Chinese investment are Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, and Calgary.
