European countries traditionally have been Chinese investors' favourite investment destinations for commercial and residential real estate, reports Zawya (31 May 2020). JLL's outbound investment data shows the US, Germany and Serbia as countries favoured by Chinese in first quarter of 2020. However, the top five countries most enquired by Chinese on property portal Juwai.com in the first quarter of 2020 are Thailand, Australia, the US, Canada and the UK. "These are the markets with the most total Chinese buyer enquiry, not necessarily those with the highest rates of growth. Because the forecast is so uncertain and the coronavirus could yet have unforeseen impacts in the months to come, there could be further changes in Chinese buyer demand as the year progresses," said Georg Chmiel, Executive Chairman, Juwai IQI.
