Australia welcomed 1.3 million Chinese arrivals in 2017 – most with sightseeing, education, and property hunting in mind, reports Real Estate Daily (23 February 2018). Chinese property investors favour Australia for its low population density and stunning beaches. According to Carrie Law, CEO of international real estate portal Juwai.com, Chinese property investment levels in 2018 are projected to be on par with 2017, barring any significant changes within the Chinese or Australian investing environment. Juwai's latest data reveals Melbourne is the most popular Australian city with Chinese homebuyers, ahead of Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and the Gold Coast.
