The surprising win by Malaysia's opposition bloc at the general election could affect Chinese investments in the country, reports CNBC (10 May 2018). Nevertheless, even though some Chinese buyers could potentially choose to hold back on investments to wait out any possible uncertainties, Chinese international real estate website Juwai.com remains confident in the opportunities brought by a government change. According to Juwai.com CEO Carrie Law, current Malaysian policies regarding visa, homebuying, and education remained "very appealing" to Chinese buyers.
