Despite the ambivalence encircling the Brexit referendum, a recent survey in early June by Juwai.com revealed 56 per cent of Chinese respondents believe the UK property demand will surge, reports CNBC (20 June 2016). The reason behind the rise lies in the fact that Chinese buyers buy properties in the UK mostly for education purposes. "For a lot of our Chinese consumers, this is a long-term game. They are looking to buy an apartment for their kids to go to university so potentially, they are less worried about it [Brexit]," said Charles Pittar, CEO of Juwai.com.
