As Vancouver and Toronto continue to mull over the positive and negatives of real estate investment from international buyers, Alberta is happily embracing Chinese buyer dollars, reports The Globe and Mail (10 June 2016).  According to Juwai.com’s data, enquiries on Alberta properties are up 70 per cent year-on-year. “Chinese interest in Alberta is growing at a rapid pace,” says Charles Pittar, CEO of Juwai.com. “Of course, it’s starting off a much lower base than British Columbia or Ontario, so rapid growth doesn’t mean the Chinese have suddenly become huge buyers of Alberta property, but what these trends show is that Alberta is starting to appear on the radar of Chinese buyers,” he adds.
