Chinese athletes rake in London rewards

Many Chinese athletes have received gifts from the state such as luxury homes and cash bonuses following the performance of Chinese Olympic gold medalists at the London Olympics,
Fully furnished homes were provided by real-estate companies: Chinese swimmers and gold medalists Sun Yang and Ye Shiwen have both received apartments valued at 3 million yuan each.
The rewards, gifts, and titles to celebrate and honor all of the Olympic gold medalists are aimed to build excitement among the Chinese. Estate agents hope to capitalize on these efforts and promote homes to potential buyers by enticing them with the idea of living next to an Olympic gold medalist.
