Many executives from multinationals have for some time overlooked and underestimated China’s tech companies dubbed the “silicon dragons,” but they’ll need to perk up quickly as these Chinese giants shift their gaze overseas, reports the Australian Financial Review (13 June 2016). Industry experts tend to look at places like the US for new innovation, but China is a likely source that may deserve more attention than it’s gotten. Australia, while strong in exporting products into China, has yet to tap into the country’s massive e-commerce market, with the exception of two companies – Seek’s Chinese arm Zhaopin and property portal Juwai.com.
