The new taxes hitting foreign property buyers in Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland could benefit Western Australia, reports The Sunday Times (19 June 2016). As the East Coast states decided to charge foreign buyers, they might decide to look further West. “Agents and developers in locations outside of the East Coast states have a chance to tell buyers that they can get similar lifestyle and educational opportunities, without the higher prices, higher taxes, and red tape,” said Gavin Norris, Head of Australia for Chinese real estate website Juwai.com.
