With Chinese being the biggest foreign buyers of Australian real estate, there seems to also be a slow rise in Chinese-speaking real estate agents as well in Australia, reports News.com.au (16 June 2016). The increased investment activity by Chinese in the country is a possible reason for an increase in Chinese professionals seeking careers in this industry, given the increased demand. Gavin Norris, Head of Australia of Chinese property portal Juwai.com, said mainland Chinese had gone from 10 per cent to 25 per cent of the foreign buyer market in the past five years. However, “You do not have to be Chinese to succeed with Chinese buyers,” he said. “A good agent is a good agent, no matter where they were born or what language they learned first.” The trend in Chinese real estate investment is the reason why many agents in Australia have beeen tailoring their strategies to cater to this audience of buyers.
