Juwai.com has partnered up with Tencent – China's internet goliath that operates the equivalents of WhatsApp, Facebook, Spotify, Kindle, and ApplePay in China – to launch a new global real estate website for Chinese buyers and sellers, reports OPP Today (5 January 2017). According to Yu Kai, General Manager of Tencent Real Estate, Tencent had noted the rising demand for property abroad driven by the surge of outbound Chinese travellers and students, as well as the growth of China’s export-oriented economy. With Juwai.com being the largest international property portal for Chinese consumers, this alliance with Juwai.com will provide Tencent users with information on overseas buying, listings, and related services. “Juwai.com is now an important part of our real estate offering. By making Juwai.com’s international property content available to Tencent’s audience, Chinese consumers will be empowered to make informed investment decisions,” said Yu Kai. Juwai.com CEO Charles Pittar adds, “Tencent has created a full-fledged real estate marketplace that includes new and second-hand homes in China, financing, home improvement and, now, homes in other countries – courtesy of Juwai.com. Partnerships are a vital part of Juwai.com’s growth strategy in China, and it is hard to imagine a better partner than Tencent."
