High rise condominiums in Seattle are a rising property investment trend with local and international Chinese buyers, reports Business Insider (16 February 2018). According to Juwai.com, a Chinese real estate website, Seattle was the third most sought-after city in the US in 2017, and new condominium developments are of great interest to China buyers. "Seattle attracts similar Chinese demand levels as those larger cities but is less than half their size," said Carrie Law, CEO of Juwai.com. Law further explained that it's vital to note that Chinese homebuyers are more likely to purchase properties before the project is actually built. "Seattle is very appealing to Chinese buyers because of its clean lifestyle, high-tech economy, and easy proximity. Most people underestimate the multiplier impact of having frequent direct flights between Seattle and China. The connectivity funnels Chinese buyer interest through the city, and makes it the gateway for the rest of the country. New York was America's gateway in the early 20th century. The 21st century will belong to Seattle," said Law.
