125,000 Chinese tourists are expected to visit Melbourne over Chinese New Year 2018, reports News.com.au (11 February 2018). Besides enjoying the sights and sounds of Melbourne, these Chinese travellers are likely to property hunt as well, particularly around the suburbs and university precints. According to a recent survey by Juwai.com, a leading Chinese property website, Australia was the second-most popular destination for Chinese international property buyers. “This may be the biggest week of the year for Chinese property buying in Melbourne,” said Carrie Law, CEO of Juwai.com. "Early indicators suggest this Golden Week will be a successful one for real estate agents working with Chinese buyers."
