Chinese property investors have set their sights onto lands near Sydney's second international airport, reports News.com.au (21 June 2017). Despite strict cooling measures by the Australian government, as well as the holding costs of their purchase – the airport is only scheduled to for completion in 2026 – Chinese buyers have remained undaunted. According to data from Juwai.com. China's largest international property website, land near Badgerys Creek grew by 1,500 percent last year. “We know of several Chinese investors seeking land in the vicinity of the airport, to develop or resell later when values have risen,” said Jane Lu, Head of Australia at Juwai.com.
