New data reveals foreign buyers are not to blame for the housing affordability crisis in Canada, reports Buzz Buzz News (22 December 2017). According to a new joint report from Statistics Canada and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, foreign buyers make up less than 5 percent of homeowners in the Toronto and Vancouver. “The data from Statistics Canada lets us separate the facts from the unjustified fears,” said Carrie Law, CEO of Chinese real estate website Juwai.com. “Now, it’s clearer than ever that foreign buyers are not the problem in Canada’s home markets.”
