Education is set to drive more Chinese property buyers towards Malaysia, reports EdgeProp (23 February 2018). According to Juwai.com, the leading Chinese international real estate website, most Chinese buyers purchase Malaysian properties for their own use. “This includes purposes of housing their children who are studying in Malaysia,” said Carrie Law, CEO of Juwai.com. “We expect education to become a larger driver of Chinese property buying by 2025. Relative to the global average, Malaysia also attracts more investment-oriented buyers.” Malaysia intends to play host to 250,000 international students by 2025, close to a sevenfold increase from the 36,000 foreign students charted four years ago in 2014. Juwai.com further revealed the top 3 hotspots in Malaysia for Chinese homebuyers are Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Melaka.
